Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What does the free consultation call involve?
The free 15-minute consultation call allows us to discuss your needs, answer any questions you may have, and explore if my approach could be a good fit for you. It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about the therapy process before committing to sessions. Please contact me to schedule your free consultation.
How long is each therapy session?
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly, although we can also explore fortnightly sessions or alternative scheduling options sessions depending on your needs and preferences. I also offer longer 90 minute sessions when needed or requested.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. If notice is given less than 24 hours before, the full session fee will still be charged. Please note that most insurers do not cover missed appointments. If a session is missed or cancelled outside the agreed notice period, the fee will remain the client’s responsibility. Self-funded sessions must be paid in advance to secure your appointment.
Do you offer reduced or concession rates?
I offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions priced between £80 and £120 for students, low-income earners, and key workers. Please contact me to discuss availability.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
I offer online only assessment and therapy sessions via secure video call. This allows for greater flexibility and accessibility, whether you're at home, work, or anywhere else that's comfortable and private.
I do not currently offer in-person sessions. However, I aim to create a warm, safe, and collaborative space online, and many clients find that remote sessions work just as effectively for them.
Please note that I am only able to work with clients residing within the United Kingdom.
I am able to offer psychology workshops online or in person (within London).
What if we feel it was not a good fit?
Finding the right therapeutic fit is important for effective support. If at any point either of us feels that the therapy isn’t the best match for your needs, I will discuss this openly with you. Together, we can explore alternative options, including referrals/signposting to other professionals or services better suited to your situation. My priority is to ensure you receive the care and support that’s right for you.
Can I pay through my private health insurance?
Yes, I am a registered provider of AXA, Vitality, Aviva and Cigna. In your initial contact, please mention this. I will need your insurance provider’s name, policy number, and whether you have received pre-authorisation for therapy to proceed with an assessment session. Some insurers require a referral from your GP before covering therapy fees. It’s best to check with your insurance provider for their specific requirements.
Do you provide crisis support or work with high levels of risk?
I do not provide crisis or emergency support and I am not able to take on clients experiencing high levels of risk. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or go to your nearest urgent care center. For urgent support, you can also reach out to helplines such as Samaritans (116 123) or NHS 24/7 crisis teams.
