Assessment

Before beginning therapy, we will start with an initial online assessment session. These are typically 50 minutes long, though I can also offer extended 90-minute assessments when needed. This session provides a space to explore your current challenges, personal history, and goals, helping us determine the most suitable approach for your support.

At the end of the assessment, I’ll offer verbal feedback to share my initial impressions and recommendations. This may include suggestions for therapy within my service, or, in some cases, guidance towards a more appropriate service or specialist support.

There is an additional charge for any formal documentation (e.g., assessment letters or reports), which can be discussed in advance.

Please note that I do not offer diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Therapy

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly, although we can also explore fortnightly or alternative scheduling options to find a rhythm that works best for your needs and preferences. My approach integrates several evidence-based and relational models, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Psychosexual Therapy

  • Currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, drawing on techniques from different therapeutic models based on what feels most helpful and appropriate for your needs. Sessions are regularly reviewed to ensure therapy remains helpful and aligned with your goals - you’re never expected to stay in therapy longer than needed.

Working online

All sessions are held online via a secure video platform. Online therapy offers flexibility, comfort, and accessibility - you can attend from a private space that feels familiar to you, without the need to travel. Many clients find that being in their own environment helps them feel more relaxed and open during sessions.

Online therapy also allows greater continuity if you're managing a busy schedule, living in a remote area, or balancing other commitments. As long as you have a quiet, confidential space and a reliable internet connection, support can meet you where you are.

Free 15-Minute Consultation

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it’s important to feel comfortable. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask any questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether it feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure or obligation, just a space to ask questions, share what’s been on your mind, and find out more about how I work. If you are interested in booking a 15-minute consultation, please get in touch using the contact form.
