Narrative Therapy
What Is Narrative Therapy?
Narrative Therapy is based on a simple but powerful idea: you are not the problem - the problem is the problem. This therapy helps you explore the stories you’ve been told (or told yourself) about who you are, and rewrite them in a way that feels more true, hopeful, and empowering.
Often, our lives are shaped by problem-saturated stories: “I’m a failure,” “I’m too sensitive,” or “I always mess things up.” Narrative Therapy invites you to step back and look at these stories with curiosity. Are they the whole story? Are there moments of strength, care, courage, or creativity that haven’t been given enough space?
Core Concepts
Externalising the problem: “The anxiety” instead of “I am anxious”
Deconstructing dominant narrative: Identifying and challenging limiting beliefs
Re-authoring: Building new stories that reflect strengths, resources, and values

What to Expect
Therapy will feel like a conversation—one where your voice is central. We’ll explore your experiences, highlight your values, and build alternative stories that reflect who you really are and use narrative techniques like letters, journaling. You’ll begin to see that you have more power than you think, and more possibilities for change than you may have imagined.
